When installing a high flow catalytic converter on your car or truck your check engine light (CEL) may illuminate due to an increase in airflow. An oxygen sensor spacer spaces out the rear oxygen sensor from the path of exhaust gases. This tricks the vehicle’s ECU into thinking that factory catalytic converter is still in place. There is NO GUARANTEE this will prevent a CEL on your vehicle because modern ECUs are very complex and rely on a variety of factors to determine if the catalytic converter is working properly.

When a Straight Spacer Won’t Fit, Go With the Angle
Some exhaust layouts just don’t leave room for a straight O2 sensor spacer — a nearby subframe, heat shield, or crossmember gets in the way. This adapter solves that by routing the sensor off to the side instead of straight out, while still doing its main job: correcting a downstream O2 sensor reading that’s tripping your check engine light.
It threads directly onto your existing O2 sensor, then bolts back into the bung at either a 45° or 90° angle — whichever clears your specific setup. No welding, no cutting, no rewiring.
Choosing 45° vs. 90°
- 45° — best when you have some room to work with but a straight spacer still catches on nearby components.
- 90° — best for genuinely tight spots, where the sensor needs to sit almost sideways to clear the exhaust path.

How It Helps With P0420/P0430

Installation
- Jack up the vehicle if needed and locate the O2 sensor bung to be replaced.
- Remove the existing O2 sensor.
- Thread the sensor into the spacer, then hand-tighten the assembly into the bung.
- Finish tightening with a wrench — stop if you feel strong resistance.
Most installs take under 15 minutes with basic hand tools.
