A Simple Bolt-On Fix for a Stubborn Check Engine Light
If your check engine light keeps coming back with a catalyst-efficiency code, this O2 sensor adapter is built to address exactly that. Each spacer houses a small catalytic filter element, so once it’s threaded onto your existing downstream O2 sensor, it gives that sensor a reading much closer to what a healthy catalytic converter would produce — which is usually enough to stop the ECU from flagging the fault.
It’s a direct bolt-on: no cutting, no welding, no special tools. Unscrew your existing O2 sensor, thread it into the spacer, then bolt the assembly back into place.
Built-In Catalytic Filter
Unlike a plain mechanical spacer, this adapter has a filter element inside that performs a real catalytic function on the exhaust passing through it — not just a physical relocation of the sensor. That’s the difference between this and a basic test-pipe extender, and it’s what makes it suitable for catalyst-related codes specifically.
Material That Holds Up
Made from SS304 stainless steel, so it resists rust and heat cycling far better than the zinc-plated steel used in cheaper alternatives. The threading is precision-cut for accurate, repeatable installs every time — no cross-threading or wobble on the bung.
Universal Fit
Built to the M18 x 1.5mm thread standard used on the O2 sensor bung of most gas-powered vehicles. If your car’s O2 sensor uses this thread size, this adapter fits.

Installation
- Unscrew the existing rear (downstream) O2 sensor from the exhaust.
- Thread the O2 sensor into the adapter.
- Bolt the assembled unit back into the exhaust bung by hand, then snug with a wrench.
No modification to the exhaust system required — the whole process typically takes under 15 minutes per side.
Install Notes
- Works best on the rear (downstream) O2 sensor, positioned after the catalytic converter.
- If your O2 sensor itself is overly sensitive or already failing, the CEL may persist even after installation — this product addresses a catalyst-reading mismatch, not a defective sensor.
- Dual exhaust or V6/V8 vehicles typically need one per bank.
- Allow for a small (1–5mm) size variance due to manual measurement.
